Foundation Building

We believe that one of the most effective ways of preparing for success is to create strong foundations.  Stage two of our programme will assess the current skill sets and experiences of you or your team in relation to the core competencies within your role or the aspirations you have set yourself.  By developing core competencies we aim to prepare you for success for whatever follows.

During this stage of assessing your needs we will remain focused on the personal and organisational goals to be achieved and together we will explore existing skills, behaviours, mindsets and relationships by using a range of evaluation tools.

A useful starting point to understand what sort of work we might do together to assess your needs is to look at, for example,  the Johari Window model J Luft and H Ingham 1955. Johari Window is a well known and respected model for understanding and training self-awareness, personal development, improving communications, interpersonal relationships, group dynamics, team development and inter-group relationships. More about this model

Other models and tools we might introduce you to to enable the assessment process are:

Transactional Analysis

Kolbs Learning Cycle and Learning Styles.

Conflict Mode Instrument, Thomas-Kilmann (1977)

The Team Review Survey, Francis and Young (1992)

By using these tools and others like them, we will develop a a platform for discussion and assessment of where you are in your personal development journey. By considering the output from these activities we will be able to build the strong foundations of self-awareness and understanding needed as a basis for identifying the route you need to take to ensure personal effectiveness for you as "standard."
